smoke switch?
So i heard the other day about a smoke switch. Im not sure what it does or how to do it,and the pros and cons. 01 cummins 6 sp edge with attitude boost elbow silencer ring mia intake and exhaust
smoke switch basically fools your system into thining you have boost, when you really dont...result= tons of fuel dumping through...there are writeups all over the place...and for your setup, juice w/ att., there is even one on youtube...not really any cons, other than you can trip a code if you leave it on for too long...it's simple, kinda fun, give it a shot

how did it fry it? just curious...i dont have one personally (got enough smoke as it is), but have helped other people do them...
Well, I have heard of the kit, never used one though.. I would think a 'smoke switch' could be custom built for a low cost that wouldn't damage your chip. I had an idea for one.. maybe tap the down pipe and have a button set to drop some oil inside the down pipe.. and bam, instant smoke.
Or 5 gallons of gas on the engine and a road flare. Nice smoke show.
I know guys think lots of smoke is cool, but the tree huggers are gonna be more and more justified in pushing states to crack down on these excessive smokers. Do us all a favor, keep smoke at the track and for the guy tail gating.
Now that I am off my soap box, we have had to fix ECMs and boxes with guys that have done this mod.

Volumes right there. ... I have heard Texas having "blow the whistle" highway signs with 800 numbers to call and rat you out.
Along side of things there are two other lil concerns with a SS on an otherwise stock truck. 1: on a cummins #6 cyl no likey too lil' air and to melt a piston for a "cool" factor will incite anger in the owner. Esp
2: Vp44 can die a nasty instant death as the fuel it is trying to deliver just will not fit through the tiny injector holes. The bypass pops open but it cannot handle the overflow and Pow - zing bye bye rotary vane.
Other way around.... Fools it into thinking you have boost when you actually don't, which is why you get 100% of the fuel at the blip of the throttle. Bad idea, don't do it and yes they are all out to get us.
sorry for the confusion
