well, i hope im wrong, but the way my luck is, i am probably 100 percent right... i went and started tinkering with the truck awhile ago, and went ahead and adjusted the rockers again, this time 8 intake, 16 exhaust... the number 6 exhaust rocker was a little loose, but not enough to really cause any weird stuff to happen.. fired it up.. and same thing, clack, clack, clack... went away shortly, then came back but not as loud.. drove down the street and it was pretty noticable.. i also loosened the wastegate elbow a little on the bullet, and that really helped out i think! it spools a little faster now and seems to run a little better. but still have that dang noise.. im starting to think the worst and say its piston slap. oh, next time i mention that im rebuilding a motor, will yall please remind me to NOT listen to a retard that thinks he can build motors!!! and i did talk to a machinist today that does a lot of these 5.9s, and he said it would be no problem, and no issues with sleaving the motor.. im probly going to do that because i spent a lot of cash on ceramic coating these pistons... and ive got to find another ride for awhile so i can pull this thing back apart.. oh, , and gotta find another means of cash too! guess i better find me a good corner

hey just a thought did you check your push rods, you said you have 110# valve springs right, one of your pushrods might be bent from pushing the extra pounds of those springs. that could be an easy fix huh?

im using HDs heavy duty pushrods, he wouldnt let me buy his springs without the rods, ... one thing my dad and i were talking about today that i didnt mention before, could this noise be from too much mechanical timing?? my cams specs say that it is 103* advance timing, and then i also stuck a 3* advance key in the cam gear...

Don't drive it till it breaks, get it repaired right. Get that cyl bored to the next oversize piston. I don't know if you can do just that one or you have to do all six. Talk to a competent diesel repair shop.
