Default how well will this setup hold up

The setup im thinkin bout running is a airdog 165, .093 tube ( cause i hear they make it lope) bd 150hp tips and a tst powermax 3. I want to know how this will hold up with my stock clutch in the 5600 and my stock turbo, its already got a 12" cone filter and a 4" dynomax exhaust. also who makes the best budget egt gauge, besides isspro i hate how they look. thanks

i agree with shellinger, stock clutch won't hold up. As far as gauges glowshift makes some good lookin gauges.

avoid glowsh!t. they are junk.

airdog165 is junk as well. I hope you have a fuel pressure gauge on that thing...

airdog used to be good years ago, but product quality went straight down the toilet when the old man sold the company... now they use the cheapest parts possible, and they were putting gasoline seals in the pump which caused the seals to fail after a couple months letting diesel seep into the motor and short it out...

not to mention all the fuel pressure issues the newer pumps have been having...

this coming from someone with an airdog150... my pump is 4 years old though. I bought it before the company was sold and product quality fell off a cliff. if it ever dies, it will get replaced with a FASS.

the cross tubes are a waste of money. you will gain nothing from them unless you convert to p7100 and run much larger injectors than 150 nozzles...

as for the "lope" wont happen with your truck. you have an HO pump. HO pumps flow low volume at high pressure. you need a SO pump to even begin to get a lope from them. but you would be more likely to get a lope from larger injector lines. said lope is not a good thing... it's no fun to drive when your truck is trying to stall constantly, and loses all of its bottom end power because it barely has enough injection pressure to run.

gauges: since you don't like isspro, autometer is your next best bet.

injectors: do you have a pop tester or a shop that will pop test your injectors for cheap? if not, don't bother with tips.. talk to Chris from DFI about some 7x.010 SAC injectors.

He will make you a nice clean set of injectors that will run like a champ. 7x.010 SAC = ~150hp+ have him set pops to between 300-310bar and use a 151* spray pattern for your HO engine.

if you have an SO engine (which you don't) you would want a 152* spray pattern. (HO motors have smaller bowls in the pistons than the SO motors, the idea is to have the injection spray hit the inside edges of the bowls for a better fuel burn)

keep the fueling turned down a bit with injectors, and run a boost elbow with the hx35 till you can afford to upgrade the turbo...

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

just read your sig.

you can forget 500hp on a HO pump with those mods...I guarantee you it won't happen.

if you really want 500hp+ here is how to get it:

1. ditch the HOVP44 and swap on an SOVP44 (direct bolt on replacement. no retuning or adapting needed)

2. 7x.010 SAC injectors

3. south bend or valair 3250# or greater double disc clutch with upgraded clutch hydraulics

4. choice of the following single turbos 62/71/14 or 63/68/14

or one of many twin combos:

hx35 over ht3b
hx35 over S472
hx35 over S475
S357 over S472
S357 over S475
S362 over S475
etc... you get the idea...

5. wiretap fueling box. like the TST, or an edge comp, or quadzilla adrenaline, etc...

and for an example:

I made 538hp/1078tq @ the rears with 7x.010s, quad adrenaline, south bend 3600# DD clutch, and S357/S475 twins. with no tuning to the twins, and no tuning to the fueling box... and I found out I was running too much timing from my fueling box and lost over 15hp from timing...once I fixed that the truck stopped surging and felt even more powerful...

and the dyno chart to prove it:

I'm about to dyno again on the 10th and see if she will break the 600hp barrier with my current setup. (changed injectors, tuned the twins, and added push rods and valve springs to prevent valve float at the higher boost levels)

Well my pulling trucks got 6x.018 sac injectors (not streetable), a benched 215 pump putting out 540cc's (21* timing) and .120 lines and tubes so ya it roal lots and lopes but i dont know how to do it to the extent that it wont destroy my clutch and or cost 10k, i put my money in the truck that goes 300ft not the one that has went 300,000mi so its a matter of now i dont have alot of money to put into my hauler.
