in my opinion you should have a input shaft and flex plate. i have input. intermediate and output shafts in my puller. because of sled pulling i also put a blanket around the tranny. some guys plate the floor in case something breaks.

I agree with what is now highlighted! Now the bolded part... as for it being Aluminum...both of mine that I stripped/shattered were steel. Both rusted, not white oxidation but iron ferrous red rust. The only piece of aluminum on the drum is the piston that sits inside oppisite the input shaft.

if i were you i wouldn't worry about intermediate and output shafts. your not going to snap them unless your boost launches and all the good stuff
