Default 24V P-Pump Conversion (Electrical Issues)

Well I hope the title isnt deceiving. I am in a place in my life, and earned the respect and trust of a local builder, that he has offered to take my 5.9 back in and give me a full refund, and give me a deal on a truck. Its going to be a second gen body truck, and it may be a 12 or 24. I am hoping to luck into a 98.5 24V and I have a P-Pump already. So be just saving to get the parts. Anyways. I have read as much as I can about the subject which isnt a ton to be found.

I know rule of thumb with guys pulling sled is 24* of advanced timing. I head most Street guys are 18* or a tad less. Can anyone give me any idea of what I am looking for, on a DD and occasional pull truck? I want to have power out on the street and do be decent competition to.

On top of all this, I wanna be able to use all the gauges in my cluster, how can I go about doing this?

2001 Dodge Ram 3500 Green Monster - Diesel Power Magazine

In that article from Diesel Power (I have the hard copy thats how I know)
They mention he uses a old banks box and the TPS on the P-Pump to allow him to keep using his factory gauges... but from my understanding what he did is not necessary.

Is there anything else int he electric department I should know about?

The mechanical stuff I can handle and any which way my P-Pump is going to be sent off for a 13mm Plunger and Barrel setup and a 215HP cam or somehting a little bit better.

Anyways hope to hear from you guys
