it hit 5k when i first got it running and the trans was acting stupid.... so yes all day long. i have it shifting at 3500 now and feel it performs better there.

seeing 45-46 psi at wot. and i set my afc at 30 psi with shop air.

when was the last time you checked your fuel filter and fuel press?

new filter a week ago and fuel pressure is good. do you guys think it should be smokey with a vgt and my set up?

What are you calling "good" fuel pressure? a number would be best

I've got a 98 auto truck in the shop now with ddp 50's 215 manual pump, 4k gov, 64/71/13, factory afc springs and slightly loose factory afc settings, housing slid foward, 100 plate in the middle and I can puff a fairly dark little cloud before spool up, but at spool it completely clears all smoke and egts quickly come back 800-900 wot. Hope that gives you an idea of the amount of fuel available With 50 horse sticks.

so the motor sound very similiar to mine. what would you say a vgt compares to the turbo you listed. my egts get crazy hot in high gear now. it hit 1450 until i lifted, guess i dont need more fuel
