Theres a lot of factors - I dont think you can accurately just go by what the different guages say.

Yes, the color-coding is just a "ballpark" based on typical applications (and IIRC, the post-turbo pyro shows red over 1050°F).

My stock-turbo Powerstroke (see sig for mods) routinely shows anywhere from 50°F to 500°F difference. The faster the temperature is climbing (on a dragstrip pass or climbing a hill), the bigger the difference. When cooling down, the post-turbo reading is actually hotter.
