Temp Difference

I installed a pyro after turbo how much of a temp difference between before and after turbo ?

Whit 11-25-2007 05:16 PM

I have read there is about a 600#f difference............post turbo reading is slow to climb

ndurbin 11-25-2007 05:34 PM

I've always gone by 300* of difference b/w pre and post turbo readings. But thats just a guess because the difference fluctuates around some.

I read a post years ago where a guy had both pre and post turbo EGT's............he said 600*f at WOT on a sled pull

I have no personal experience with post turbo reading myself

actually it varies 300-600 (somewhere in there)....

pre turbo is a better idea.

Isspro makes both pre and post mount temp guages that are color coded with the green, yellow and red in the appropriate temp ranges. I'd like to think that they answered this question before they marketed the guages, so if you go out on the net and find adds for these guages just see what the difference is between the red marks on the two.

They are marked at 1250* and 1100*.

Thanks Nate, I was hopin somebody other then me would understand what I was talkin about there.

I would venture a guess that it varries somewhat from how far from the turbo it is.

It is also totally dependent on what turbo you are using. A more efficient turbo will pull out more heat than a less efficient turbo.
