i have a 97 cummins and i was woundering what the smoke screw is i heard it from some guys around here didn't know

how do you do the timming on those

 

the smoke screw or (pre boost screw). it up fuel before ur turbo fully ignites. as far as i know till like 5psi or something. someone please correct me if im wrong. if tuned right with your star wheel can give you quite a bit more power and make your truck run better. again if im wrong please someone correct me as i am just going off some things i have learned since getting into the cummins world with my first truck. i have been around them for a while just bought my first one in nov 09' though. so still learning alot and something new everytime i log in here. thx and good luck
