transmission upgrades
im was wondering what the most efficiant way (cheap) is to do a minor build on the transmission? cash is low and i want to know what some simple mods are that will be worth the money. also would a shift kit help any? thanks
thanks
you can get black hi engery clutches for pretty cheap or red altos for not too much more, i would also look at putting in different selector plates that allow you to put in one extra clutch and steel into each clutch pack,
if you are tight on money i got the entire rebuild kit from dacco with the black high engery clutches for $150ish and thats all new seals and everything, then get a single dish tc for $300-400 and put a transgo shift kit in there, i believe they are around $50

single disk tc is good for about 850lbs and maybe 350-400hp, the rest of the parts would hold up fine to alot more power, the hp isnt what does the tc in, its the torque that destroys them and they are the biggest weak link in the stock trannys
