So where can I find detailed instructions to advance the timing? Like idiot proof or so easy a retard could do it

 

If you've never done it, DONT mess with it. It's not easy by any stretch of the mind (at least not for a noobie). If you are REALLY good, you can get away w/ not removing the FC. But 95% of people cant do it that way (my last diesel shop are the only ones I know of that can...), there is a lot to it.

 

There are detailed write ups on here, just use the search, if you can turn wrenches and follow instructions I say go for it. Of course you have to have the kit to do it. (around 200 on fleabay)
