Try this for an analogy: Pick up a baseball and heave it as hard as you can, as if you are a center fielder throwing for a play at home plate.

Now do the same thing with no baseball in your hand. That's basically what your engine is doing between 3-4k rpms.

i have a 4k kit...... much better than the 3k and you dont have to have springs..... just dont float the valves... they are all different but most i talk to not to go over 3200 but im guilty of this too...... i could float mine at 3800...... so its all in the driver.....

W/ my PSD it would pull hard right to its redline about 3400rpms.. so thas about where i would shift. I dont want to shift this truck any higher than it starts making power... so from 2500-3000rpms I'm hearing?

nope wrong section for that, have you ever ran the 4k springs? ... I dout it

This user is wanting to build a powerful and fun to drive truck not something that is slightly better than stock.

Yes I would still run the 4ks, the truck will pull harder through the rpms, and be more responsive than the 3k kit.

I have ran 3k springs, 4k springs, and now 5k springs.

So there wont be any issue not upgrading the valve springs as long as I dont rev it all the way up to 4grand?
