Pump rpm really isnt a factor mechanically. Besides girdles and deck plates to hold the block together weight is also added to the crank on such engines to help cope with the harmonics as well as to maintain that rpm at the end of the track. Shane kelloge has some good incab go pro videos of his truck watch his tach. Gets into the clutch at 4300rpm then tops out -6500rpm.
