Ok thanks wildbill.
Im going to try a few of these things when i get time this weekend. I am also going to re-torque all the crossover tubes and lines, as well and have my injectors ready as a last resort.
I will let you all know what happens.
Thanks for the input bombers!

Ok, I couldnt wait till the weekend so I made time today. Turned out #3,4,5,and6 crossover tubes were well below 37ft.lb. Retorqued and no more stalling and starts right up when hot.
Although I still am seeing the high idle. Must be a seperate issue
If y'all dont mind I might start a new thread with a high idle title.

Glad you got it goin. Sounds like your buddy told you wrong when he said your inj. returns were normal haha.

Ya I'm not too sure on that one either... maybe he was hoping to charge me to replace the injectors
Remember that this was a very odd symptom, not like other rail pressure symptoms where the longer the truck sat the harder it starts. Mine was completely opposite, you could shut it down and the longer I waited the easier it started. Honestly I think he may have done the flow test after enough time had gone by for the truck to start again.
Just goes to show how sensitive these engines are to rail pressure. I just wonder how many sets of injectors have been wrongly replaced knowing the fact that it could simply be the crossover tubes being loose??? Changing injectors would still solve the problem due to the fact that one would have to re-torque the tubes anyways in the process... Maybe CR injectors aren't the downfall they are made out to be???

Any toughts on my other issue with the high idle?
Cold start Idle mode when its warm?
cruise control switch cusing the issues?

well the inj. return flow test works great when used correctly, and the first step after finding high returns is to check fuel tube nuts and then retest. The running like crap when warm is a very common sign of fuel tube nuts but, if someone is telling you the rail press. and returns are normal when its acting up will lead you else where. Most always the rail press. will show out of spec. and inj. returns will out of spec if nuts are loose. Just have to make sure you are checking these things while the problem is occuring. Id say there have been several injectors replaced because the tech didnt tighten nuts and recheck. CR injectors are generally plagued by inefficient fuel filters and lack of maintence, extended idling etc. Have you checked your batt. temp sensor and intake air temp sensor with koeo?

Ya I agree with your last post and I thankd you for one of your posts in another thread that said to check the fuel tube nuts, its where I got the info. Im sure you were gona mention that next in this thread. Kinda new to the 3rd gen but getting it quickly. Thanks

So what am I supposed to check with these sensors other than a visual inspection which I've done? No codes come up.
Is there another auxiliary high idle mode available with these models other than the cold start mode? The truck was a welding truck before I got it and appears to have had something on it that required juice from the tucks charging system like the starter for a welder. I'm wondering if the guy had something programed on the ECM to set the idle up with the tap of the accelerator cuz thats all it takes once the truck is warmed up.

Loose cross over tubes won't show on an injector return flow test. Its not returning enough fuel to make a difference but it is dropping rail pressure enough to cause a hot no start. You need to compare demanded rail pressure to actual to see that.

Your idle is a glitch in the programming. Answered it on the other thread.
