5.9 CR Versus 6.0 PSD?
If you were going to go with 7.3 Id say have at her. I wouldnt mind one of those myself. To be honest, this 12V has given me way more trouble than my 24V EVER HAS.
Besides, youve put way too much work into that 24V to give up on it now.
Dont be a stranger Andrew - Uncle Bubba get so lonely !!....

Its a good thing I have a thick perscription pad....
Okay, you'll be happy to know I bit the bullet and got a new vehicle. Not what I intended on getting, but it gets 32+mpg, 0-60 in 6.8 seconds and is turbocharged ... meet the new mistress:

She's identical to the one in the picture. I'll get some pics of mine when I get a chance.
BTW: I kept the old lass too!

Well If I can fellas I would like to add the fact that I have a cousin that works at a dealer and he tells me that the that the Duramax and the PSD both have longevity issues between 60k and 80k due to the high boost used to build power in the two of them both really don't build good power until 35psi or better, as opposed to the Cummmins that releases at 32psi. Kind of makes sense considering strain placed on head bolts and the bottom end. There is a trade off though the Cummins is the worst when it comes to fuel economy but it all has to due to the boost used to build pressure.
is adam serious with the cummins havin the worst fuel economy, did i read that right my truck running with almost dead injectors idling all the time still goes almost 850kms too a tank and thats hammerin on her too

. The Cummins have always been known for superior fuel economy, and the Duramax trucks have been getting closer since their debut. The Fords have never had any fuel mileage to brag about, being the worst of the 3. Longevity is hit and miss with ANY truck, but look at the facts and the PSD's have had BY FAR the most problems, resulting in over 500 vehicle buy backs due to numerous engine failures. In the same time frame, GM and Dodge have numbers in the single digits. The reason the Cummins makes more power lower down is because its an I-6 design, not a V8. Boost plays its part, but shouldn't the engine be designed to handle it?
Ignorance is bliss...until it gets beaten out of ya right?

At least thats how I was raised...
