Transmission builder props...
Just need to give some credit where credit is due. After owning my truck 3 months, the trans (48RE) died in it. Come to find out, the previous owner cooked this trans. I have never seen something this bad! The only reusable parts was the case and the oil pump. (Side note: DON'T BUY FROM NEWBERG DODGE!!! This was the second truck I got from them that had transmission failure. The first one was the first night! They DO NOT inspect before they sell! Rant over.)
My stroke of luck came from the guys at Lake Oswego Transmission Unlimited in Lake Oswego, OR. The owners name is Ken and he is a great guy to work with! They ended up building me a fully billet trans with a 3-disc converter and all the goodies for a great deal. The best part is I have never driven (or rode in) a Dodge that shifted this well. I am so overly impressed with these guys! If you need any trans work done and you are in the Portland- metro area, give these guys a call at 503-636-1436. I don't get anything from the referals but I believe that good shops are hard to find and I want to help everybody to have as good of an experiance as I did.
Another side note: Thank you so much for all of the vendors on this site. Without you guys I wouldn't have had the foggiest idea what I was doing. It is unfortunate that I couldn't use my trans as a core but it all worked out well. Again, thank you so much for your time and patience.
