You're a lucky man. I looked at your gallery and it seems that you have a bunch of lift like I did. I used a fabtech (craptech) kit on my old truck and it just didn't keep things in line I guess. I had horrible issues with angles initially and I finally got a tech guy out at a show to look at it and they sent me a new lower cross member. Still went through axles though about every 20k. Boots just blew apart...

sounds like you had your bars cranked up too much if you kept blowing CV's, a friend of mine had the same setup and never had a problem.

my friend has a ram 1500 with 38s and has never replaced a unit bearing, u-joint and ball joints since he put the lift in 80k ago. So whats your point?
some get lucky and some dont. But if you got rid of the unit bearings then they would be pretty indestructible. Now, chevy has done a lot with IFS but it is stil IFS and anyone that uses 4x4 a lot and knows anything about vehicles would never throw a IFS system in there unless it is a 10-30K front end for a baja truck. even then they are worthless on anything that you need traction with. they are ride only.

Bars were set on the LOW side of the "Z" range. So that was not an issue, it was just a band combination of my 6spd truck, heavy duramax, and the kit was in it's infancy at the time I believe to really make all the parts work together. I was born at night, but not last night...

That old Fabcrap 8" lift was a poor design. it dropped the diff. housing 6" and dropped the spindle 8" which created horrible c.v. angles. That is why you tore through c.v. joints. The best thing you can do is avoid cranking your t-bars or these so called "levelling kits"I.E. "Crapneato"
The best thing you can do is keep your c.v. angles FLAT like G.M. designed it.
