Default lift pump failed ???

I was driving when leaving a light and making a right turn I lost power and it slowed for a few seconds then picked up , when I left my buddies it had to crank longer till it started ans seemed alright for a few miles then I made a right turn and lost power and it came and went a few times in a half mile then picked up speed.

Lift pump I'm guessing

You probably want to check for codes (with a scanner) and maybe check fuel pressure

No codes with the key , maybe I got a bad load of fuel on a filter that's time to be replaced, so I do that tomorrow when I can get a good filter for it.

I was thinking a filter wouldn't come and go, but then remembered the filter could starve the injector pump if it got plugged.

This is where you want to be careful. Mine had the same problem with the lift pump. It would loose all power and then pick up after I let off the gas and pushed on it again. But if your lift pump is going bad which is what it sounds like you want to get it replaced soon and don't drive your truck because it will start to damage your CP3. The CP3 will pull enough fuel to run the truck but its not good for it. Also when you go to change your fuel filter if you do it before a lift pump, as soon as you take that cap off, your truck will no longer run because you loose that suction and your truck wont even turn over because of the lack of fuel and the lift pump being shot. My suggestion is to have the codes checked but try not to drive it to avoid damaging the CP3. Get a good lift pump from FASS or Air Dog (Air Dog is cheaper. I learned too late) and you shouldn't have any more problems. Unless the CP3 is damaged which is my problem. Just be careful. Sorry for the long post. Good luck!

Oh ya change the fuel filter and if it fixes your problem, congrats. If it doesn't turn over or run longer than a couple seconds after you replace the filter it would be the fuel pump. Sounds like the same exact scenario as my truck.

It may be covered you should call and ask to make sure but if I was you I would just invest in an aftermarket lift pump to help greatly reduce your problems later. You also don't want to void your warranty. Check on it to make sure.

Yea the dealer is right across the street a whole 1/8 mile away, they said I needed a fuel filter when I had the recall on the front end done, wonder if that was because of low fuel pressure.

Oh well I guess I call them in the morning and find out if it's covered, you would think it would be as that would take out the CP3 and it is covered.
