And they wonder why everyone get pissed at them, I can get a filter in town anywhere for 14 bucks for the good one , so they better not charge me out the *** for it.

Had my truck all day so and done nothing except say well it started for me.

And they had my truck all day for a 5 minute job if I wasn't afraid the lift pump was dead.

Fuel Line Cleaning - WTF is that?

Diesel fuel, esp. ULSD is not going to plug fuel lines. I agree tell them to change the LP and if possible, go to UFA or Cummins or some other distributor of Fleetguard and get your own fuel filter and you'll change it for free, while they watch.

They just called and after taking all day they finely removed the filter and guess what ??? the lift pump is dead, but it was working just rough ,it's rough because it pulling fuel through the lift pump.

I asked the mechanic this morning what I said was wrong , he said I should have called you and asked, I said you wouldn't listen, I told him he needs to get on the forum and learn something about lift pumps amd diesels.

Now there saying there going to have to find another reason not to honor the warranty, so it can't be the pump died, we have to check it see if it was the fuel that did it , and they don't have a pump on hand can't get it till in the morning.

I told the so called service manager there's a reason they call you all steelerships, he said but you keep coming back, I said if wasn't in warranty I had it done 6 hours ago, of course they said the book time is 2 and half hours , I said I don't care how long you charge to do a half hour job, warranty is paying, six bolts and lift the bad and remove the pump.

2 days to get a 3 hour job done including the trouble shooting even in a steelership

The statement he made about the fuel is standard. They used to say that all the time when there wasn't ULSD. Assuming you've never put any crap in that tank of yours you have nothing to worry about. You are right though they look for any reason to give it the ol' boot. Warranty that is.

Just get the truck back and deal with this yourself. You'll be happier dealing with one of the sponsors here, likely get a good price, WAY better service and you'll learn a thing or 2 about fixing your ride yourself.

Don't feel bad though as it took me a total of 3 OEM LP's and 2 VP44 IP's before I saw the light.

Yea but then I have to pay, but I bet I could have found one and had it done by 3 pm at the latest, if it wasn't covered by warranty.

They will never see me after the warranty and I owned it for 3 years now and this is first time it's been to the dealer, that's why I like Dave at O'Neil Dodge in GA, he's on a few forums, one of the few service managers who's knows what going on and doesn't do the bullshit stuff to your truck.

I was going to give these guys my cards as i do home repair and have connections for the stuff I don't do and save people money to boot.

These need to be shafted, as a mater of fact I'm going to start asking if they work at dealers and charge them more, oh I'm sorry the repair is covered but we need to flush the water lines out and your A/C needs a flux capacitor and we don't have one in stock

Yeah, but what I'm saying is that in this case the warranty isn't worth the paper it is written on so you better start getting a line on flux capacitors just to be sure.

Yea I could have had it done by now, I'm sure I could have found a stock one in town somewhere, or had a air dog here the next day and I have to old one out and not have to put up with the **** their trying to stick me with and the lost work.

I told the the service manager if service was what they were supposed to be doing, I'm feeling more like the cow, who just got serviced by the bull.

This brings up something I should have mentioned before though, they won't give you the block mounted LP if your's has one - I can't remember - they'll do the in tank retrofit which has its own set of problems.
