Its required for the CP3 to run right so it should be. If not a stock replacement lift pump is much cheaper than an aftermarket one and it won't void your warranty.

Cool, I guess I find out if I lose the truck for the day, took them 3 hours to do a simple recall from what I understand other have said and enable my fast idle, pissed me off they charged me 101 dollars to plug the scan tool in to turn on the idle, most I heard was a 50 dollar charge.

But I like now I can leave the dog in the truck with the A/C running, dogs life my *** , kick the idle up to 1100 and know I not loading up the injectors with a long slow idle, would have done it earlier put was afraid of them turning on the out of park alarm, which means your horn is honking if you open the door while back up to a trailer and it can't be turned off once they turn it on, so I made sure to let the manager know that I was going to check it before I left and wasn't going to be a happy camper if the horn went off.

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

Dam I called the dealer and the lift pump is covered, but they want to charge me a 100 dollars to change a fuel filter before they can flow test it, 100 bucks for a five minute job, no wonder dealer have such a bad rep, they charged me 100 bucks to plug the scan tool the other day to turn on the fast idle, but since I was there for a recall I went ahead and paid.

Now I waiting for the manager because they said call him if your not completely satisied before putting a bad mark against them on a survey from Dodge, I'm tell him I'm not waiting for a survey I will write them and call too.

It's on of the dealers that dodge dumped during to down sizing but they seem to still be going on and doing warrenty work.

I'm trying to do them a favor because it going to be fun to get it in a bay not running, and they said I can't work on it there, yea I for forgot how much mess and time it takes to change, oh wait there's no mess and takes all of five minutes, stealerships

Ya the dealerships are really going down hill. You could do the filter in 5 minutes and what, $12 for a filter. That stuff should be covered for free because you already paid for it when you bought the truck, thats why its called a warranty but maybe I dont know what a warranty is. I went in to get a new water pump and they wanted to charge me $350!! I said screw that and went to NAPA. Got one for $84. The only way they are making money now is warranty work and parts which is sad in my opinion. Anyone that is smart will go somewhere else and get parts for 5x less than what the dealership wants and then do the labor themselves for 5 hours instead of 2 hours and $300. Its ridiculous.

Even better after dropping it off at 9:30 they called me at 1 pm and said it all he can see the the injector cleaning service and you need a new filter WTF.

That why I took it to you, I was afraid it was the lift pump, asked him if I paid a 100 buck for him to tell what I paid for Thursday during the recall.

He said no one told me about it, I said you and the diesel both asked me why I was back so quick and I said I didn't replace the filter because if it was the lift going bad, cracking the system would have left in dead in the water.

No wonder everyone hates stealerships, so I guess I wait and see after they get the filter done and do a flow test, at least I can keep that bill if the lift pump goes and takes out the CP3, I can say you said in was fine, first time I lost power and then had it come back, so I want to make sure I don't have to pay for a CP3

Don't let them charge you that $100. They aren't reading the warranty right. Call Star and talk to them about it.

The ******* called back, still haven't changed my fuel filter, saying there's no use in changing it if I'm not going to have the fuel line cleaning done for 190.00, so I asked if I paying for nothing, he said no we can put in if your want, you all said I needed one and after it lost power I was afraid to open it if the lift pump died, and he replied well we can put it in if you want, I know about these truck than they do, I wouldn't even went near them if the warranty was still going.

The warranty is to keep you coming back to them so they can bend you over and make up **** I never heard needed on the forum

Well, Ive never really heard of fuel line cleaning...What the hell do they think the filter is for???

I would report them to DC - this kind of crap needs to stop.

Tell him to change the lift pump and youll come down and put a new filter in while they watch.

Yeah, let them know you'll change the filter yourself.

My dealer wants $80 for fuel service plus about $47 for th filter. It takes about $11 for the 7 mu filter and about 5 mintues of my time. The dealer hasn't even seen my truck since I drove it off the lot over 5 years ago.
