There is no part on the engine that deals with fuel delivery. The in tank transfer pump sends fuel to the CP3 then the CP3 pressurizes it and sends it the rail where the injectors are. At the end of the rail is a rail pressure relief valve so the rail doesn't get over pressurized. Next, the unused fuel goes down the return and back to the tank. That's it.
The advisor may be confused as to the location of the pump. On 2003-2004.5 the pump was referred to as a lift pump and was mounted in the engine compartment on the back of the fuel filter canister.
