I know that our trucks will run without the in tank pump workign but it will shorten the life of the CP3. If I was you I would go ahead and order the Air Dog and when you get your truck back put it on there. Also, I would go to the dealership and have them point out the part that is bad to you, if they are so sure it is bad they should be able to point it out to you so you can know what actually is bad.

No it wont. The DURAMAX has the exact same CP3 as the Cummins with NO lift pump and we've got 3 of them in our families freight company that have over 400K on them with no issues.

Well I got lucky and they found the part in Montana and it will be in today. I will have the mechanic point it out to me when I pick it up. The advisor tried to get him on the phone with me, but he was busy.
I'll let ya'll know exactly what it was.

Apparently the advisor wrote it down wrong and told me wrong over the phone what it was. He meant intank not intake. He was going by what he thought due to him writing intake. You boys called that one. It was covered under warranty since the truck only has 60k on it. But for reference, if your truck is out of warranty the thing is a little over $500 for a factory pump, so my advice is to go with the Air Dog or FASS it's only a few dollars more.

They didn't soak you for the $100 deductible did they? That seems to be more and more common because they can't seem to be able to read the actual warranty benefits. If you did you need to get a refund and if not good on them for not being morons.

In any event, I'm glad you got it handled.

Nope, no deductible. This is one five star dealership that has done an excellent job and has been great to deal with. I have had both trucks in there for warranty stuff and they have both times been extremely quick with getting the trucks in and fixing them and not just saying we can't find anything.
The dealership is Corwin in Fargo, ND. They also sell and service Honda, Toyota, and a couple others, that place is huge.

A lot of dealers have been charging a deductible because they didn't read the part that the fuel system is covered by the engine warranty at 100,000 or 5/6/7 years depending on what your literature says.
