I have a 2003 and when it sits over night it wont start at all. I have a airdog lift pump and it runs and pumps fuel fine. I noticed that when the light on the dash stays on for a long time before going out is when it is hard to start. I called a place close to me and they say it is a injector with excessive fuel return but once the truck is warm it starts fine. Ex. Yesterday when i got up to go to work it was almost 60* and turn the key, light stayed on for maybe 5 seconds it went out i turned the key and it fired. Today it was 30* and i turn the key the light stayed on for roughly 20 seconds i hit the key and it just cranked and cranked, turn the key off and wait a second and tried it again, the light stayed on again for maybe 10 seconds i tried the key and still nothing. Now i know this next thing is a major no no but a little starting fluid in the intake tube from the air cleaner and go through same process i hit the key it fires right up. I wait 5 minutes, shut the truck off, wait 5 minutes try to start it and it fires right up. WTF, is it a injector or grid heater or what? Oh and im looking for a transfer case also. If I cant fix this im trading it in! Thanks Pete
