Default General 48re question

I apologize if this is the wrong forum.

2003 ram 2500 5.9 48re bully. When accelerating while in overdrive, is it normal for the torque converter lock to disengage? How would you prevent that and make it stay locked?

Thanks,
lholiday

You need to check the governor solenoid and pressure switch. They are notorious for blowing out.

I had the same problem. Any kind of programmer, chip, turbo, etc. will push the stock torque converter and make it slip. If it bothers you that bad, then the way I got mine to stop on my 04 was I wired a torque converter lockup switch, which helped a lot and actually saves your tranny if used correctly! If you need any help or pics of how I did it i'd be more than happy to give you a walk through.
