First off sorry if this is a wore out question. I am new here and to 6.5. I am wanting to do the PMD relocate but, my truck has a jasper injection pump with a grey stanadyne PMD. And I cannot find one with the correct plug to work with existing plug on mine. Hoping someone can point me in the direction to get a kit that will work. Thanks ahead of time for your help

 

Also since mine has the grey PMD if I trim the regular cable to fit the grey cable. do I still have to run a grey PMD in my relocate spot?

I have a 8" extension cable part number ap0024 if you need one but that is the longest you will get for the gray plug.

Contact leroydiesel.com He can hook you up with a long extension cable that will work with whichever PMD you choose to use.

 

I would not remove the PMD you have from it's current location on the pump. I had my greatest longevity on the original black Standyne PMD's mounted to the pump.

I would get a spare PMD, heat sink and extension cable. So you had one ready when it eventually does fail. It may be years and 100,000 miles. I've gone 150,000 before. Never with a gray PMD. I haven't had any longevity at all out of those.

Many people make long extensions for the gray PMD's. For a remote spare I would use any "known to be good" PMD.

I use nickle anti seeze to mount the PMD to the heat sink. I heard it was the best for dissimilar metals. Sometimes I use stainless screws instead of the others also

 

Yeh I'll keep using existing pmd till it causes a problem. But want a good backup. I use the truck to pull racecar so usually a pretty good ways from home. Don't wanna have to pull intake on the side of the road.
