Syntorq (Castrol brand name), equivalent to the Chrysler part# MS-9224 or GM part#s 9985648/12346190 is the ONLY recommended fluid for the NV4500.
It is a 75w/85w synchromesh GL4 synthetic gear oil.

Yes you are. It is not heavy enough. The Chrysler synchromesh spec includes both a light and heavy weight synchromesh, so not all inclusive as far as the NV4500 is concerned - just part of the spec for synchromesh purposes. Syntorq "LT" is the heavier grade.
