I have a sqeek in my dash the sounds like a bird when I turn the heat on. Does anybody know what this is?

It's also taking my truck a long time to warm up. It's -7 right now... i plug it in... drive 25km to work and it's just barely starting to get warm. any suggestions?

The squeak is most likely the blower motor, its a common symptom when the weather gets cold.

As for the long warm up time, it is probably a failed thermostat.

 

x2 on the failed thermostat. i know this is like comparing apples to oranges but my brothers 99 jeep xj had the same problem where he would drive for an hour or more straight and it would only warm up to 165 degrees (210 normal operating temp) and he changed the thermostat and warms up like its brand new again.
