block heater temps

Sup,
When it was getting down in the 30's, I plugged it in to see what the temp would be. When I unplugged and looked at the scanguage, it was like 100-107 degrees prior to me starting it up. This was a couple years ago, and since then sold the scanguage and never thought to check it again. As far as what it should be I have no clue.
