Shoot just a couple days ago the high here in Indiana was 8 degrees and the windchill was -15. the low was negative 4.

i don't see any reason to not use my heaters, why would you make your engine try harder than it has to? the less it has to crank the sooner oil pressure builds

i see good reasons for not running my heaters. it slows down the air going in and restricts it up to as much as 20% and when your running really high hp it makes a huge difference. and it a real advantage living in the south where it doesnt get real cold our trucks last longer and dont break because of extreme cold.

this is true, plus less rust in certain parts of the south. I think this summer, i will be running a grid heater delete but ill be putting my grid heaters back in by october-november when ever it starts getting into the 30s at night. with the big injectors in my truck, it does not like extended cold periods and starting can be a pain. Although, its not been near as bad since i installed a new ecm since my old one was staying on and misreading the map sensor and dumping full fuel all the time even at start up

cool, thanks for all the feedback guys. i usually wait for the voltage on my gauge to start goin up on cold days before i start it up and also wait for say 15-20 seconds after its warmed up and just sat a while.
