The Backstory:

Running around yesterday with the kids and stopped at Lowes. shut off truck and pulled the key. something under the hood was still running. figured out that it was the ABS hydraulic motor that is running. disconnected the plug and went about my business.

it appears to me that I need a new ABS Control Module. is this correct?

I have done Bing and google searches and can come up with a bunch of partial information, but nothing that makes me feel like i have a complete grasp on what needs to be done. .

so here are my questions:

will any dodge ABS control module work?
are they specific to Vin # and does the dealer need to program it?

my truck is 4 wheel disc but i am unsure if it is 4 wheel ABS.

 

you need to know f its 4 wheel abs. if it is you have to have that a 2 wheel abs modle wont work on it. or the other way around. im not 100% on it but i think youll have to have it programmed to the ecu/pcm.

I had the same thing happen to me awhile back. I surfed ebay for about a week and found a couple from salvage yards on there. I called them prior to buying it to make sure it would work with mine. Got it in the mail and a simple R&R and bam, the noise is gone. Works great, I have not gone to the dealer to get it flashed to my vin and no issues. Hope this helps.
