tranny swap

Default tranny swap

i have a automatic tranny that is shot, i found a standard 5 speed through a friend what all do i need to get and need to do besides stearing coloum, clutch, clutch pedal and putting the shifter in. am i getting in way over my head

it is easier to find a donor truck to do this as all the needed parts will be there...save alot of time and headache. but yes pedals,shouldnt have to worry about wiring...column. driveshaft probably wont be the same length. not sure about the 4x4 too.

alright.... the guy i found the tranny through has a bunch a 24v parts i just didnt know if i was getting in over my head trying to do this

it's easy you will need the adapter plate,hydrolics,pedals,you don't need the whole steering column just the plastic and when you think your done it won't start you will need to fix your nuteral safety swithch

take out the dummy plug and plug your master cylinder into it. this is not a very hard project. did it on my 95. you will need to get your driveshafts shortened/lengthened and really everything is straight forward took me and my dad when i was 16 a day and a half to have it completely done.

I just used my old driveshaft and didnt have to worry about anything. The biggest problem i had to convert was, trien to figure out the measurements on where to drill out the floor to put in the shifter
