GDP is probably Glacier Diesel power, But which fuel pump are you talking about? The mechanical Fuel Boss, Walbro or something else?

Thread Hijack: What kind of pressures are you seeing with that? Does the GDP kit install a relay or does it use the wiring from the ECM to run the pump? I just installed a walbro and I keep having issues with it.

Back to your regularly scheduled programming.

Default I talked to dodge today

I installed my new Fass fuel pump today. The pump is working great. It makes the factory issue pump look like a kids toy. It's puttin out twenty pounds at idle. Tomorrow I will load five tons of hay on the gn and see whay she puts out loaded WOT. I want to thank all my friends at Diesel Bombers for their advice and help.

20 might be too much for the VP. You might want to do some research on that.

I have heard it both way. Less than 30psi is ok, keep it under 20psi, I personally haven't heard a solid, proven answer yet.

Okay, today loaded running 65mph/5th gear, fuel pressure was 17 pounds. Was not WOT.

Default 01 LIFT PUMP QUESTION

Being new to this site is sort of scary! In reading all the stuff you guys do to the Cummins makes one wonder if they should leave home without a mechanic along; are these Dodge diesels really that unreliable? maybe so. Well, here goes my second post and a real concern now that I hate to leave the driveway as a diesel mechanic I am not!

My 2001 Dodge/auto is stock with 99,000 mi now, at 75,000 the lift pump dies in the driveway, lucky for me, huh? so I call the local diesel mech in our one-horse town who comes up, checks things out and says yep, the lift pump is gone fer sure. The fix he says is relocating the pump onto the frame just under the drivers seat so as to cool the pump motor as engine heat is the problem for the electric lift motor. After having him do this work, I have 24,000 on the relocated new stock pump without any problems so my question is; do I need to upgrade once again to an after market Sundog? or will mine last and last now that its in cooler place? Are the stock pumps a piece of S----? I don't have the fuel pressure gage either that you guys all seem to have, maybe that too is an issue?
