1693=Turbo Charge Control Circuit Malfunction
0216=Injection Timing Control Circuit Malfunction
0215=Engine Shutoff Solenoid Malfunction
0237=Turbocharger Boost Sensor A Circuit Low
0236=Turbocharger Boost Sensor A Circuit Range/Performance

The vp is shot thats for sure. And the turbo codes might be related to the Comp's boost fooling.

just when you think things can't get any worse, first the trans now the next most exspensive part. how do you guys do it? i have 3 kids and this truck is killing me but it seems i will do anything it takes to keep it going. wife says you love that truck more than you do me... i'm sure im not the only one that has heard that on here? any good deals on a pump would be great. i seen a rebuilt one with a airdog 100 on ebay for 1300 somthing from pesacola diesel ?

1) You probably could have avoided killing the VP-44 if you had a fuel pressure guage installed in the first place. It is absolutely mandatory - even on a stock truck.

2) these trucks are expensive to own and operate. Parts cost 2-3 times what gasser parts cost because well "its a diesel"

3) I would urge you to stay away from Pensacola Diesel - they dont have the best reputation and are shoddy at best

4) good luck.

Default volts

when i started my truck today i noticed the volt meter diving to 8 and back up past 14 several times for almost 5 mintues it seemed like. then it stopped and held at 14. could this be part of the electrical side of the pump going out or is this telling me the pump is SHOT? we got 6 inch of snow and some ice to come tonight and its my only way to get anywhere. would it be ok to still drive it? i dont want an electrical fire or anything. i really thought it was the batteries until this. any thoughts are apprieciated

its most likely your intake heater cycling it takes a lot of juice especially wnen its cold out ...I know how you feel with your wife and stuff mine is the same way....I drove my truck for almost 2 yrs before I replaced my vp44 because money was tight ...but it could leave you stranded at anytime....there are sponsors on here that will get u a great deal on a vp44..

If some sponsors would post up their web site or somthing with a price and what kind warrenty, mabye a package kit with a fass,airdog ? I'm getting my tax return in 2 weeks and its only 1250,and can't save any of it due to the vp44. any great deals would be appriciated. i should sell it and get me that 97 for 8500 and p-pump it away with the 5-speed. instend of all this money in a rebuilt auto and now the vp.

sounds like the air intake heaters cycling thats normal, should stop when you hit 18 mph or after the intake air temp reaches 60 deg.
