Well when I start up my truck, I can put it into gear but it won't move until I rev it up.. and then it starts to move.

No load. Happens in reverse and drive and any other gear..

It's like it takes a minute for the TQ Converter to fill up or something.. then it runs fine.

Is this normal or what?

 

Check the transmission fluid level and condition. Also, when was the last time it was serviced??

 

The transmission was rebuilt about maybe 1,200 miles ago? It also wants to jerk when I put it in drive (from a dead stop).. the truck just sorta lurches like it shifts hard.

 

my truck does that lerching fowered and it used to do that hesitation when you put it in gear just check your fluidsmy problem was fluids . it still does it when its cold some times like it takes a sec for the fluid pressure to build up but i have never had any problems with it i also have a shift kit in it to as well
