i am planning on rebuilding my 47re. I already have a triple disk suncoast converter and i am making about 350 hp. what im needing to know is, will extreme Suncoast rebuild kit be enough or do i need a valve body and all the other stuff. How has the best book for the 47re. Thanks

 

Unless you know how to build a trans, don't do it. I know guys that have rebuilt the same unit several times in less than 20K.

The clearances are precise and there are a few special tools that are needed. Most guys do not have the proper tooling or knowledge to do the job.

A complete trans without a matching valve body is a waste of time. As is mixing parts.

good point, i might have it done then
