Stock turbo
Whats the max horsepower that the stock hx35w turbo support and whats the max boost you can run with these turbos before you have to have o-rings and head studs installed. Thanks for the helpAndrew
A guy I know made 388hp last summer on Dunbar's dyno. He makes 50 psi (with 13-1500+ EGTs) towing a big gooseneck with hay or equipment. But, just because he can, doesn't mean you should. He shouldn't either. Keeping a HX35 under 35 psi is the best for it.
ok first i have herd a hx35 support 400hp, seocound call me when he hits 50psi again witha stock turbo so i can watch him pull compressor wheel fragments out of his intake pipes. a hx35 is worthless past 35psi and anything over is in the danger zone anyway. a stock headgasket shouldnt excede 45psi, a stock headgasket with studs can hit 60psi and o-ring with studs 85psi
Biggest miss conception of gauging a turbos ability is Boost Pressure , high numbers are bad on stock engines , you want more air flow and less pressure , your stock turbo is building pressure but its not alot of cool flowing air , when i went with the ATS intake and exhaust manifolds my boost pressure dropped tremendously , when i went with the s300 again my boost pressures dropped but its an entirely different truck , I went from a 60# gauge to a 35# gauge as im a single charger on stock head gasket and dont need to be pushing more than 35 psi to get the job done
Thanks for the input guys. I was just wondering what the limits of the stocker was so I would know not to exceed it Ive yet to pass 25 pounds of boost. Dont really have the extra $$ laying around for a new if yall know what I mean
