Under all conditions. However, the word towing varies with each person. Pulling long grades, lugging the motor at altitude with insane amounts of weight? Then no. We all have to drive by the EGT gauge.

However, the HX35 is a good turbo for the mild fueled guy.

Many have swapped in other turbos and were extremely unhappy. You have to match the fueling to the intended use of the truck. And likewise, the turbo has to match that fueling level and use.

We spend tons of time getting the right turbos in peoples hands. But, If I were towing heavy, had EGT issues I would consider a small "towing" set of compounds. Same driveability as stock with the grunt to get the load over the hill.

It's all about air density!

I had that issue also, and it ended up being a bad gasket between the exhaust manifold and the turbo due to loose nuts on the studs... Put in a $10 gasket, made sure it was all tight, and noise went away. 35psi no prob.

Thanks for the info Bryson Come to think about it I actually went to take the turbo off when I drilled my exhaust manifold for my egt probe and couldnt get the back nut off so instead of actually removing the turbo I just tighten the nuts and bolts back up.So thats where that pesty roaring is coming? Anyways thanks for that helpful tip bud. Also how far down in the exhaust manifold should the egt probe be? I figured if Im going to have to remove really remove the turbo I would check to see how far the probe should go in. Right now its only threaded in maybe 3 or 4 turns, is this far enough or should it be futher in. Thanks for the help and advice again

Your EGT probe is fine with 3-4 turns on it. Make sure to put a high quality high temp antiseize on the threads or you will never get the probe back out. I am running a stock turbo, 75 horse injectors, Juice w/att, 4 ich exhaust and AEM intake. I have dynoed my truck on 2 separate occasions and both were well over 400 hp. 1st time 3 pulls averaged 439 HP. 2nd time 3 pulls averaged 441 HP. Thats with 37 PSI and at the end of the pull the EGTs are hitting 1450.

I made 403 & 899 with a Comp and 90 horse nozzles. Never saw over 35 psi, and 1500* was no problem. Now I have 150 horse FBD sticks, and can make more than 40 psi (don't really know how much more. I stopped at 40) on my poor little stock turbo. I believe it gets out o its map around 30, and should be kept there.
