Default Power Steering Pump?

Is there some type of blow-off valve on the power steering pump? Thursday morning I left on a trip at 4:00 am and as I was traveling my power steering pump started growling so when I stopped and it was daylight I couldn't see anything wrong so added some fluid and all was well. My wife calls me and says are you all right and I said yea why. She told me I left a huge stain in the driveway. Well when I got home sure enough it was power steering fluid but once I filled it no leaks. So is there some type of blow-off valve? Something freeze?

Willing to bet your shaft seals are shot. I had the same thing happen in the 99 before I bought it from the company. Within 2 weeks of us getting it the pump started leaking a ton. Sure enough, the shaft had play and was leaking right outta there.

Bite me!

I had no problems when I fired up in the morning, Just when I started to leave. I use to go through all that DOT crap. I still check things out but have no idea why this happened. I checked more today and still don't see where the fluid came from
