Default detroit diesel turbo

has anyone used a detroit diesel turbo on a homamade compound turbo set up. there is a old bus yard they have prevos, and MCI buses in there lot they have mostly dietroit diesels, most of them are blown with compound turbos some have a single big turbo then theres cats , and a few big cummings engines . i have a hx 35 in my truck right now lots of goodies on the truck right now twin turbos and bigger injectors are next, cant afford a new turbo but i can afford 1 of these. any advise guys would be appreciated

yea it can be done but the problem is to get it spooled. i sold a a holset turbo that came off of a cummins kta 600 horse high altitude pump engine to a guy that has a common rail dodge. he was pushing 550 horse and still he couldnt get it spooled. he even had a bigger top charger and it didnt work. but that turbo i sold him was large by huge tho. it all depends on what you want to do with your truck. if you start putting alot of air into a motor it is hard on barings and everything else too. but it all depends on what ur wanting to do with it i guess..
