I completely agree.. I'm guessing it just needs the potentiometer mod, But I tried to talk to the guy and he was adamant the trans is toast. So, If they replace the trans and that doesn't fix it I hope they're willing to eat the cost of a transmission.. I could drive down there in a few days and fix it and finish the trip out.
Potentiometer, my ***. 6 feet of 14ga. wire and a $2 toggle switch would get that thing rolling, I bet. The guy might be shooting straight, but it sounds suspect to me.
No way to tell without getting your hands on the truck.

Well, there are a 1000 ways to skin a cat. I'd rather do it the potentiometer route and leave it. He seems suspicious just cause he didn't know what he was talking about.. Who knows.. I'm gonna have to bite the bullet and If I find out it wasn't done I'll take it to court.
Ya I can agree with you on that.. I'll keep you guys updated.
Okay.. So, The truck is here. There is a little issue I've got to address with the VSS. Cruising on the highway the speedometer will some times stop and it will kick out of over drive, pull over and then take off it's fine for a few miles. Also.. I believe the TV cable to be way out of spec.. Gonna have to find a 4.57mm gauge. It "hunts" between 2-3 during low speeds (20-25mph). And last but not least when at a complete stop the trans will sometimes stay in 2nd and then kick down into 1st during acceleration. If I "manually" shift it to 1st at a stop it's fine.. I will let you guys know what my findings are. I'm gonna take it to a trans shop and hopefully get my TPS covered in this warranty somehow. Last resort I'll go for a pot mod.

Anyone know if and when a Injection pump is rebuilt do they put the cap and collar back on the power screw? Mine doesn't have the cap or collar but the truck does not seem to be tuned up.

I've never had one rebuilt but, I don't think the power screw has to come out in a rebuild..... previous owners may have played with it then turned it back down
