Hey, My name is TJ I'm an mechanic civilian and an 88m motor transport operator for the U.S Army. I'll start by introducing myself here. I'm currently in South Korea. I picked up a 1993 CTD from a family friend (all stock, never tweaked) for 2600 dollars. No rust. It needs the outer universal joints on the front and a head gasket (never over heated just weaping) It's an auto A518 with no issues. The truck has 286,318 well kept miles one dent on passenger fender. New tires, new starter, and transmission was just serviced. Has boost, egt, and trans gauge on the pillar. Let me know if you think it was worth it. Plans are a 4" skyjacker (no blocks) A good TC, exhaust and a good tuning.

And if anyone is in the MT area looking for a good deal on a 1983 Mustang GT t-top car let me know and I'll give you a good deal.

Looks good to me! Congrats.

Thanks! I'm pretty excited to get tinkering with it. I won't be home for another 6 months or so though. It really is a good truck. Debating on painting it black metallic cause I've got 2 gallons left. Probably won't do much performance to it cause the automatics don't hold to much power from what I've read/ heard

Looks good! I'd vote against repainting it, but hey, it's your truck.:tu:

Ya, I'll more than likely try and polish it up and pop the one dent out. Every panel except the pass fender is perfect besides paint.

I wouldn't let the reputation of the Auto's stop you from modifying it. They're fairly easy and VERY cheap to rebuild.

Get a torque converter, and mod away.

Ya, I've rebuilt the 727 before. No big deal. This trans is solid.. a good tc and a good shift kit will do her. I'm not going big on power until I 5spd swap it

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

I've looked around at some torque converters online here.. And read the sticky's. But I'd like an opinion from someone on here that has run a couple different converters on what kind to get? I've heard the five star and bd and a couple others. But I'd like an opinion.. Let me know what you guys got and shoot some links if you would! Thanks,

If you're going to shell out the $800 for a good converter, and another $100 or so for the shift kit / fluid you might as well find a Getrag swap.......

I got mine for ~$1000 shipped complete from clutch to driveshaft.

WHERE DID YOU GET THAT DEAL? I know it's a getrag... but still. I couldn't kill one if I babied it.. If I could find a set up like that for a grand I'd snatch it up!
