Default slipped timing???

Is it possible for the VE to slip timing. i know it is a problem for the p-pump guys. my truck started to smoke and run rough when i start if after it has been sitting for awhile. i know it sounds like it is bleeding back fuel but it will also stutter a little if i rev it up no matter how long i have been driving. it just seems like the timing is retarded to me. i runs great when driving.

oh also if i start it and start driving right away before it stops running rough and smoking it will clear up almost immediately. could my KSB be bad

I`d say 100% impossible, unless there is major carnage/breakage as the gear on a VE is keyed to the shaft. Sounds more like low lift pump pressure/ dirty filter or an air leak somewhere in the fuel lines.
