Default Timing slipped?

Friend of mine had his truck die while driving. Now when he tries to start it, he says there is raw fuel coming out of the exhaust. Its a 97, stock as far as I know. No new modifications. Tia

raw fuel out the exhaust,
i'd also have him check his injectors for any damage to the tips or cracked injectors.
