Bought a rebuilt 727 from a shop in IN. Cost a bit but works good. Now I am having O/D trouble with my '91. Cold days won't stay in O/D. Any sugestions?
Thanks!

trans temp sensor is making it stay out of od. I'd say your air to oil and water to oil cooler is cooling your trans fluid faster than desired. So when the cold oil comes back past the sensor it kicks it out of OD. I believe the temp is 45 degrees. I've heard of people taking the sensor out and "hard wiring" it so it will always go in OD.

thats just stuff i know. i dont know everything, i just do a lot of research into diesel stuff because i love it all.
I have a stock 92 im going to put a 47 in. How did you control lockup? My truck already has OD control. And i'm hoping for 22 - 24 mpg after the swap. I get about 18 with 31's and a 20k mile trans. Should i expect more?

I'd put a temp gauge on it first.

Thanks for the info, I will check the temp. Maybe try bypasseng the temp sensor until spring. No plans for any large loads this winter anyway. Over 258,000 miles and still strongdrivtrain other than the O/D shifting troubles.
Thanks

I'd go with a manual swap with the nv5600 6 speed transmission!
