Default need help fast trans problem

ok looking to buy a 1990 w3500 2wd with getrag 5 speed and it up shifts just fine but you have to down shift in to 2nd and 3rd just right for it not to grind the gears and also in 5th gear if you dont hold the stick the hole time it will fall to the seat but the trans will stay in gear and you have to wiggle the stick and get it back in plays then down shift ive never seen this before so i need to know whats wrong with it the guy said he is sure it is just the top plate but i dont know ahole lot about the getrags so need help

I have been into two getrags and it kinda sounds like the mainshaft bearing is going out cause my first dodge acted like that did alot of grinding and poped out of gear bad, i wouldnt drive it any more than i had to. drain the oil and see if it is really full of metal debris if it is you probably have bearing failure.

Bad synchronizer maybe.
