i am planning to put od button on the shifter handel ala 2nd gen . does any one out there who has done this know if it is wired in parellel wether the light on the original od button will work. this site is the bomb

I did this to mine. It is wired in parallel to the switch. If you then pull the cap off the factory switch and remove the yellow piece inside it will disable the switch but let the light shine through better. I am in the process of removing my dash switch altogether and installing a 3mm yellow LED on my tach pod. I will then be moving the bed light switch over to the headlight/mirror pod. That way I will have a nice flat panel to use for auxiliary switches. Since my dash is still pulled apart right now I'll take some pics of the switch and note the wire colors etc.

 

since i asked this question, Ive done this mod on two trucks . on both of them a 92 and 93 the light on the od switch in dash is activated by the column shift button also .
