Default can't get the alt to charge the batt any help

i have took the alt out and had it checked twice and had the batt checked and come up good all around. All thee studs on the alt have the same voltage as the batt but i was also told that that the back of the alt should magntise when the alt is on but it is not.

any help would be great

use the search button. it is a very common problem. first off, check your external regulators. the charge goes through those, regulate the voltage, sends it through the computer, and then the computer sends it to the batteries
