Default Injection pump performace, tranny?

Hey guys i'm am sure the answers to all my questions are in a thread somewhere on here but I am doing this for a friend and dont have the time to find them. My friend just bought a 90 Ram with a 5.9 12 valve and he wants me to do some work on it. He is looking for more power, he would like me to adjust the injection pump and put injectors in it. I am a diesel tech by trade so I am should be perfectly able to handle the job. I have done lots of work on bigger cummins engines but very little on the 5.9, i have set the overhead on them but thats about it. Basicly i want to know the procedure for turning the pump up, i believe there are three scews? If some one has a link to i detailed procedure or something that would be awesome.I already told him he is getting a post gauge and a pyro before i do any performance work on the engine. Also it is a 4x4 with a 3speed in it, he would like to either swap it for a overdrive auto or a 6speed manual. I would prefer finding a overdrive auto because I will prolly being the one doing the swap and it seems it would be much eaisier. But i dont even know what trannys they offered in these or what opsions are.Anymore infor on these subjects would be most helpful thanks guys.

If you go either of the NV's you will have to change the adapter on the back of the motor. The getrag is the only one that will bolt up as it is.

Find ya a good HX40 and some good injectors to get good power out of it.
