question for 1st genners about smoke screw
i just took my afc spring out, does about the same thing. you have to contol smoke with your foot instead of the afc doing it.
doing this lets you fuel pin drop all the way down = full fuel all the time

No reason to extend it, All your gonna gain is smoke and no power. Removing the spring can actually hurt bottom end performance. Too much fuel to soon can put out the fire and cause poor performance and slower spool up.
taking the spring out really does hurt low end performance, my truck diesnt want to spool well after i turned the full fuel screw(it was only a turn but still) If your truck is all stock just take the spring out because my truck ran pretty good on the low end with just the spring out.
with my denny t pin i used a 6mm washer between the fuel pin and the metal part of the diaphragm to shim the fuel pin down... i also machined the afc tophat to get more travel upward but you apparently dont want that anyway.
