get a good wiring diagram and check the wire that goes from the computer to the wait to start light and see if it turns on as soon as your key turns on. it should turn on everytime your key turns on before you start the truck. if it doesnt than it could be the temp sensor on the intake manifold. but either way a wiring diagram will help you figure it out
